Engineering Management Debuts Among Best Online Programs
By: Cornell Engineering Management
After launching only 2 years ago, the Engineering Management Online Learning Program debuted at #6 on the list of Best Online Engineering Management Programs from U.S. News & World Report.
The Online Learning Program complements the highly regarded On Campus Program that began at Cornell in 1980. Students in the Online Learning Program earn the same Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) degree and enroll in classes that are simultaneously offered on Cornell’s main campus in Ithaca, NY. Working professionals are increasingly becoming digital nomads, and the flexible delivery format allows students to take classes asynchronously at a distance or synchronously on campus. The program is also punctuated by summer residential sessions to deepen leadership skills and build the foundation for successful online collaborations.
The Engineering Management Online Learning M.Eng. program launched in summer 2020 and is already well recognized. I feel that the program faculty and leadership certainly deserve the credit for this exceptional ranking and expect that #6 is just the start for us”, saidYong L. Joo, Senior Associate Dean for M.Eng. Programs.
Since 2020, nearly 50 students have joined the program representing large and small companies from all industry sectors. Cohorts are intentionally small to foster community and teamwork. New electives are added each semester and the program provides an exceptional level of personalized faculty and administrative support.
We are excited to be recognized as the #6 online Master’s in Engineering Management program in the U.S. in only our second year. Establishing our distance learning program has been a major 5-year effort from planning to launching curriculum. This year’s ranking is a nice reflection of the commitment, passion, and hard work of our program’s faculty and staff", said Patrick Reed, Director of the Engineering Management Program and Joseph C. Ford Professor of Engineering at the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
The Online Learning Program will celebrate its first graduates this May and is accepting applications through March 1, 2022 for the cohort matriculating in June 2022. The 2022 US News rankings can be viewed here.
